Former Lieutenant Complying With Parole Specifics
FIRST REPORTED: 3:00pm 6/4/09 A former Galesburg Police Lieutenant who was sentenced last year for allegedly stealing drugs from an evidence locker is currently complying with his parole specifications. 50-year old David Hendricks of Galesburg was convicted last November of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Official Misconduct and was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

Hendricks was in front of Associate Judge Steven Bordner in Knox County Court today for a status hearing where his parole stipulations were said to be going well. Hendricks has served his time in jail, completed a substance abuse evaluation, and obtained a full time job among other things. Hendricks attorney Gerald Brady says Hendricks is also complying with parole obligations where he has to check in with the Knox County Parole Office. An official with the office said they require contact with Hendricks on a monthly basis, including two reports by mail and one office visit in a months time.

Bordner says he would like to see at least monthly contact and if there is a problem with compliance, it can be dealt with immediately.

Hendricks was also granted a motion for a temporary change of residence to allow him to continue to reside in Wisconsin, where he has found full time employment.

Hendricks will next be in front of a judge in September for a chance to review the matter to see if there are any changes that need to be made.
