Finance Expert Takes Stand at Blago Trial
CHICAGO (AP) -- The corruption trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is back under way with a financial expert who was once a budget official taking the stand.

David Abel was called to the stand following the trial's noon break. Earlier, Alonzo Monk -- Blagojevich's longtime friend and former chief of staff in the governor's office -- finished four days of testimony.

Abel was called to testify about the $10 billion in pension bonds the state issued in 2003 -- Blagojevich's first year as governor. Prosecutors say the governor and his inner circle schemed to get a kickback in return for the underwriting business connected with the bonds.

Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to scheming to sell or trade President Barack Obama's former Senate seat and launch a racketeering plot in the governor's office.
