Jeb Bush Stumps for Brady in Bloomington
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is praising State Sen. Bill Brady, a fellow Republican, as the gubernatorial candidate who can turn Illinois around fiscally.

Bush appeared Wednesday in Bloomington to headline a private fundraiser for Brady.

The former Florida governor, who is the son of one president and brother of another, now works as an advocate for education reform. He said that if elected, Brady will be able to bring Illinois back to economic stability.

Meanwhile, across town, Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn's running mate, Sheila Simon, held a rally called "Keep Bushonomics Out of Illinois" at Bloomington's Laborers' Local 362 Hall.

The economy also was the focus of Simon's speech, and she wasn't shy about taking shots at Brady's featured guest. Simon noted that Brady's private event featuring Bush was $500 per ticket.
