Teens Accused of Trespassing at Former Days Inn
A number of young people were arrested Monday for trespassing at the boarded-up Days Inn on Henderson Street, formerly the Regency.

According to police reports, while driving by the building, police noticed a door open on the west side stairwell. After entering the building, police heard glass shattering on the second floor.

Police, however, left the building because warning signs were posted about health hazards.

After contacting the owner of the building, police learned it had black mold, broken windows, and missing floors.

When the owner arrived on scene, he and police searched the building wearing gas masks, but found no one.

A quick search of the area, however, led police to two silver cars parked close by at the Lakeside Pool and Recreation Area.

Police waited for the owners of the vehicles, 18-year old Jeremy Likes and a 16-year-old juvenile.

The boys admitted to entering the building with their friends, just before going swimming.

They, along with five friends, were arrested for criminal trespassing. Courtney Dovovan, Alex Wignall, and Jeremy Likes, all 18 were arrested and charged as adults.

The other four arrests were juveniles and were eventually released to their parents.
