Leadership Greater Galesburg Taking Hiatus
A lot has changed in Galesburg in 17 years, and that's why Leadership Greater Galesburg is taking a year off to restructure.

Board President Sandy Banks tells WGIL the group wants to focus on better ways to tailor their programs to the Galesburg community.

"The only reason that we're taking a year off is to examine our curriculum the way we train leaders," Banks said. "All communities change, including Galesburg in the last 17 years, the needs of the community are different, and so we're taking a good look at ourselves and upgrading what we're doing to make better classes, better workshops, and to produce more effective leaders within the community."

Leadership Greater Galesburg began in 1994. Its mission is to provide local leaders with the tools and skills to be great leaders.

The non-profit organization's next class will be formed in August of 2011.

Banks says the main strategy for the restructure is still being formulated.
