Discovery Depot Wants Public to Woo Hoo Again
The Discovery Depot Children's Museum is hoping to keep the spirit of woo-hooing alive by holding a fundraiser.

The museum has created a "We are Galesburg" night being held Friday" evening, the proceeds of which will benefit the endowment fund set up when Galesburg won the $25,000 second place prize in the Readers Digest "We Hear You, America" contest.

Discovery Depot Executive Director Matt Warnsing tells the WGIL Evening News it will be easy to contribute a few dollars to the event.

"Admission price for that night is going to be $2 and then the whole $2 is going to be donated to the Foundation for the We Are Galesburg fund, and then we'll have a couple different crafts going on, we're going to be opening a ball pit in our playground area and the balls that we have, we're going to have kids and adults can decorated them for a dollar and that will also be donated to the fund."

Warnsing says that's in addition to some "We are Galesburg" fans that kids will be invited to help make, and some other events.

The "We Are Galesburg" night is from four to seven p-m Friday. City leaders are expected to be in attendance.
