Galesburg Man Indicted on Felony Sex Charges
A Galesburg man has been inducted by a local grand jury on both felony and misdemeanor sex charges.

32 year old Nicholas Friend was in Knox County Circuit Court for a hearing Tuesday, where it was learned that a grand jury a week earlier indicted Friend on two-counts of felony Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, and two-counts of Misdemeanor Criminal Sexual Abuse.

Friend, who was initially arrested on more serious charges, allegedly received pictures on his cell phone of 31-year old Shawn Pedigo's 12-year old daughter.

Police say the pictures were taken of the girl while she was in the shower, when she would be at Pedigo's house to visit. Friend pleaded not guilty Tuesday and asked for a trial by jury. His next court date is July fifth.

Pedigo, meanwhile, faces three Class-X felony counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, and five class-two felony counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, along with single counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse filed in three separate cases.

Pedigo will next be in court Monday afternoon.
