Michigan Man Faces 13 Criminal Sex Charges in Knox County
A Michigan man is being held on $250,000 bond in the Knox County Jail for multiple criminal sex charges against him.

29 year old Samuel Smith of Jackson Michigan, made a first appearance in court Wednesday and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 28th.

According to police reports, a complaint was filed against Smith with the Knox County Sheriff's Office on May 13th.
By May 31st, warrant was issued for his arrest and he was picked by Blackman Township police June sixth.

Smith faces three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a victim younger than 13 years of age, all Class X felonies.

He is also charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a family member, a Class 2 felony, three counts of criminal sexual assault of a family member, which is a Class 1 felony, and finally two counts of criminal sexual abuse of a victim unable to consent, a Class 4 felony.

According to court documents, Smith is being represented by Borsberry Law Offices out of Peoria.
