Gladfelter Ready to Dive In to Courthouse Renovations
He's been on the job just a week, but the new construction manager for the Knox County Courthouse Renovation project has a few suggestions in moving forward.

Donnie Gladfelter of Hein Construction will be overseeing the project as says things need to be somewhat simplified.

"Before it goes out to bids, what I'd like to do is put this thing into two bids, one for interior package, one for exterior. I think that's all it needs to be, everything else muddies it up. We can have one general contractor for the interior package, one general contractor - or if they give a good bid they can do both of them, but thing we ought to have a general contractor for an exterior package and an interior package."

Gladfelter adds that interior and exterior work would be able to occur simultaneously, but there will come a point this winter will all work will have to stop and wait for spring.

He says that's mainly due to the delay in work thus far in project, but he hoping to be able to let out bids for the work by August.
