2 IL Crashes Leave 4 Dead, 1 Injured
MENDOTA, Ill. (AP) -- Four people are dead and at least one person was injured in two north-central Illinois crashes.

Both crashes happened Friday in Lee and LaSalle counties.

The crashes remain under investigation, and no information about the victims has been released.

The Lee County Sheriff's office says in one crash, the driver of a semi failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the side of a car.

Three of the car's occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth was flown to KSB Hospital in Dixon.

The LaSalle County Sheriff's office says a motorcyclist was killed in a separate accident after a car ran into him, knocking him into another lane, where he was struck again.

He was flown to OSF Saint Francis, where he later died.
