Galva Students Win Agriculture Competition
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- A student team from the west-central Illinois city of Galva has won recognition for creating a multimedia campaign promoting careers in agriculture.

Six teams competed at this year's Illinois FFA convention in Springfield. The Galva team won $1,000 for their project. It was titled "Are You Looking? Agriculture Careers are Looking For You."

Teams from Pinckneyville and Morrisonville won second and third place.

The winners were announced Monday by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Illinois Farm Bureau.

The goal of the competition is to interest talented young people in agriculture and to ensure the future success of one of the state's largest industries.
