More Information Released in 1996 Body Discovery
The Knox County Sheriffs Department has set up a website they say they're going to use to periodically release more information about the body found in the East Galesburg Brickyards in 1996.

It was learned this week that the body found could no longer be identified as Lula Cora Hood, last seen in Knox County in 1970, due to DNA testing done now that wasn't available then.

Sheriffs Department officials say the body found in the brickyards was a female, dressed in light colored pants from Sears, a blue, zippered hooded sweatshirt, a white blouse that had black and red pinstripes, yellow-ish ankle pom pon socks, and brown and tan "KangaROO"-brand boots, size 8.

Deputies believe the boots weren't manufactured until at least 1982, and have a zipper pouch on the side.

The Sheriffs Department has posted photos of the clothing worn and boots on their website. You can find out more by CLICKING HERE.

Anyone with information can call the Knox County Sheriffs Department or the Galesburg-area Crimestoppers Hotline.
