Tribune Releases Sealed Blago Files
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Tribune has asked for the release of sealed documents in the corruption retrial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

The Tribune reports it cited First Amendment issues and other grounds in its Friday filing seeking documents from both defense attorneys and prosecutors. Jurors have completed ten days of deliberations in the trial but have yet to reach a verdict.

The Tribune requested a Tuesday hearing. Deliberations are to continue Monday.

Media attorneys have frequently filed motions over both the first trial and retrial calling for greater access to sealed documents.

The newspaper reports attorneys on both sides have traded four filings since mid-June.

The impeached governor has denied all 20 counts against him. Allegations include that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat.
