Blago Supporters Displeased with Verdict
(IRN) -- Supporters of ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich aren't happy with the verdict reached in Chicago Monday: Guilty on 17 political corruption counts.

Kay Osborne of Chicago says Blagojevich is innocent. "This governor needs to appeal this decision. He's been an honorable man," said Osborn. "He's been doing so much for the people of the state of Illinois and they cannot blame him for the money being gone either."

Zakiyyah S. Muhammad of Chicago says sat in on the trial several times in the last few weeks. "It was clear that the judge hated Gov. Blagojevich, and most of the media. Most of you all hated him because he wanted to be fair," said Muhammad.

When asked if she thought Blagojevich tried to sell the Senate seat, Muhammad was steadfast in her response."No. And if he did, he didn't do no more than the rest of them," she said.

As Blagojevich left the federal courthouse in Chicago, dozens of people swarmed him and his wife Patti as they got into their car. Camera phones were pointed their way. Supporters were present, but some people booed.
