Man Pleads Not Guilty to Stalking
A Galesburg man arrested recently on charges accusing him of stalking and kidnapping has made his first plea to the charges.

46 year old Charles Breasaw was arrested in mid-May on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Stalking, and made a plea of not guilty Monday after a judge found probable cause for Breasaw to be tried.

A Galesburg Police Officer testified Monday that Breasaw allegedly stalked a home in the 800 block of Fulton Street for several weeks prior to his arrest, driving by the house every day, and leaving when a woman inside would go to sleep at night.

Officers also believe he made suggestive statements to three children who also lived in the home.

When officers arrested Breasaw, they say they discovered a case for handcuffs, handcuff keys, and a box of condoms in his pick-up truck.

Public Defender Jim Harrell had cited mental health issues with Breasaw, but he appeared to understand what was going on in court Monday.

A judge set a pre-trial conference date of August 1st. He remains held in the Knox County Jail on a half million dollars bond.
