Knox College Commencement Saturday
GALESBURG, Ill. (AP) -- Knox College will award honorary degrees to a war crimes prosecutor, a chemistry professor and a music director during its commencement ceremony.

Among the recipients is Brigadier Gen. Mark Martins, chief prosecutor of the war crimes trial system reformed by the Military Commissions Act of 2009. Martins also will deliver Saturday's commencement address to 326 graduates.

Other recipients are Lyric Opera of Chicago music director Sir Andrew Davis and Purdue University physical chemistry professor Joseph Francisco.

Knox College President Teresa Amott says the three serve as "an inspiration" for graduates.

The private liberal arts college was founded in 1837, and awarded its first honorary doctorate to Abraham Lincoln in 1860.
