Accused Baby-sitter Pleads Not Guilty to Battery Charges
A Galesburg baby-sitter accused of shaking a three-month-old baby in April pleaded not guilty Tuesday to battery charges filed against her.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 21-year-old Marina England plead not guilty to Endangering the Life of a Child, Domestic Battery, and Aggravated Battery of a Child-- a Class-Three Felony. She also requested a jury trial though public defender Karl Johnson.

Prosecutors contend England allegedly shook the tot the night of April 17th when the infant would not drink from a bottle. They claim she screamed at the child, and both a 6-year-old sibling and the victim's mother witnessed separate parts of the alleged incident.

It's been reported the baby may have suffered a concussion or other head injuries. However, results from further medical testing that the prosecution requested are unknown.

A Pre-Trial Conference has been scheduled for September fourth. England has been out of jail on a $10,000-dollar recognizance bond-- issued over a month ago by Judge James Stewart.
