Galesburg Couple Arrested in Suspected Street Fight
Police say a domestic scrap in the street Sunday was caused when a Galesburg woman allegedly threw a soda can at her boyfriend.

Galesburg Police say 18-year-old Tasia Griffin allegedly tossed the can at 26-year-old Darryl Love at the corner of Phillips and Summit Street shortly before 7:30 pm Sunday. Both were passengers in separate passing vehicles.

Records indicate both vehicles stopped, Griffin exited hers, and approached Love. Griffin is suspected of then battering Love while he was still inside a blue Cadillac. The fight then spilled outside the car, and Griffin accuses Love of "body-slamming" her to the ground.

Police say Love fled the scene and was later found hiding under a child's bed at his East North Street home. Meanwhile Griffin, police say, allegedly tried reaching at another woman inside the car her boyfriend was in. They say she sat in car and allegedly began kicking the windshield. A police report shows Griffin denies breaking the glass, yet she suffered lacerations consistent with causing such damage.

Griffin and Love were both arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery, and Griffin faces additional charges for Reckless Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property. Both were scheduled for Detention Hearings Monday.
