Prison Sentence in Meth Case
A Galesburg man has received a prison sentence for his role in a methamphetamine case last year.

41-year old Robert Miner, Junior was sentenced Wednesday in Knox County Circuit Court to four-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, but will receive credit for 168 days served in the Knox County Jail.

Miner was arrested in November for his role in a methamphetamine lab discovered at 986 East Knox Street.

Miner had previously been arrested for similar charges following an April incident, where he was found to be wanted on Warren and McDonough County warrants as well.

Miner initially pleaded guilty to the charges in January after claiming he needed to think about a plea deal in the case. But he then withdrew the plea claiming public defender Jim Harrell wasn't representing him properly.

Miner changed his mind one more time and pleaded guilty again in April, but no deal on sentencing was in place.

Miner must also pay several thousand dollars in fines and assessment fees as part of the deal.
