Ameren: "Green" Spray Nozzles Save Energy & Money
Ameren Illinois Utilities is coming up with a unique way for businesses to save energy and money.

The utility giant is offering a new dishwashing spray nozzle through its "Act on Energy" program.

Program spokesman Geoff Brigham says if you use less hot water, you'll use less natural gas to heat it.

"The older nozzles use pure volume of water to create the force. What this does is it injects air into the stream of water at which creates the pressure as opposed to the volume of the water that does it."

Brigham says businesses could save up to $500 a year by swapping out the old nozzles for the new Green Pre-Rinse Nozzle. He says another tip to save money is changing the bulbs used in EXIT signs to 2-watt LED bulbs.

More information about the program is available online at www.actonenergy.com.
