IDOT Schedules Public Hearings on IL Route 336 Extension
The Illinois Department of Transportation will hold three public hearings on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Illinois Route 336 Four-Lane Highway Study, extending from I-474 in Peoria to Macomb in portions of Peoria, Fulton and McDonough Counties.

Three identical hearings will be held in Peoria, Canton and Macomb. The Department has considered a Build Alternative, a No-Build Alternative and several other alignments. Maps and exhibits as well as Study assessment data will be presented. Comments will be taken from the public.

PUBLIC HEARING DATES AND LOCATIONS:

* Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the ITOO Society Hall, 4909 W. Farmington Rd., Peoria, IL.

* Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Ingersoll Middle School, 1605 E. Ash St., Canton, IL.

* Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at VFW Post 1921, 1200 E. Jefferson St. on the corner of S. Candy St. & E. Washington St., Macomb, IL.

Individuals may attend any of these hearings at any time during the open house hours. Displays will be available and discussions will be informal. The DEIS can be viewed on the IDOT Web site: www.dot.il.gov/desenv/env.html or at the IDOT district office, listed below.

A court reporter will be available to record individual public comments. Meetings are accessible to disabled individuals. Persons who need a sign language interpreter or other assistance should notify this office at least five days prior to the meeting. Address written requests to:
