Something for Everyone at the Taste of Galesburg
If you just don't have the time to eat at the lions share of locally-owned eateries in Galesburg and Knox County, you might be able to do some sampling instead Thursday night.

The Galesburg Business Association, the Galesburg-Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Galesburg Lodging and Restaurant Association, among others, are hosting their annual "Taste of Galesburg" event from 4:00 to 10:00 p-m on Simmons Street between Seminary and Kellogg Streets.

One of the organizers of the event, G-and-M Distributors' Adam Vitale, says a record number of businesses are taking part this year, and tells W-G-I-L he thinks he knows why.

"It truly is something for everyone. There's a whole family component of it with the bouncy castles and a bunch of stuff put on by Discovery Depot (Children's Museum). We've got a raffle so you can win some great prizes, (and) most importantly, the food. We've also got the beer and marguarita garden and some fantastic music."

Vitale says the music will include an acoustic stage that will play host to the group "Moondog Collective", and a main stage with Chicago-based group "B-B-I."

There is admission to the "Taste" and then patrons typically buy tokens to use in exchange for food.
