Galesburg Enjoys Variety at 'The Taste'
Twenty local food venders along with bands and community groups participated in this year's Taste Of Galesburg, which drew a large crowd to the event.

The Taste, which was held Thursday night along Simmons and Seminary streets in downtown Galesburg, featured a wide variety of foods for all ages and tastes.

State Representative Don Moffit was seen enjoying the fare. Moffitt tells WGIL he likes coming to this event because he can sample a number of items.

"It's always fun, I just love coming to the Taste of Galesburg. It's really a chance for restaurants to showcase. And I guess I have a favorite or two, but maybe I'll try something new, so this that opportunity when it's not like you're sitting down and it's the main course that you're ordering but you have an opportunity to try some things."

A worker with Rooster's Restaurant in Galesburg says her booth was serving a chicken salad sandwich on a Danish roll, which she says is the restaurant's best seller. She says the restaurant chooses that item to serve because because of its value to the midwest region.

She says she hoped people would visit the Rooster's tent since she says it took a lot of time and effort to prepare the sandwiches and says they were "made with love."
