Quinn Not Making Decisions Yet on Ethics Bills
Gov. Pat Quinn says he will decide in the next few weeks what action to take on the ethics bills that have hit his desk.

Quinn was disappointed that the General Assembly didn't enact the entire package of proposals from the Collins Commission, but some measures did pass, about a half dozen designed to reduce the influence of money on politics. The main measure places a limit of $90,000 on transfers from party leaders to candidates for the state legislature.

Quinn says he is undecided on the bills that have recently hit his desk, and he will scrutinize them over the next few weeks.

Quinn says he's willing to use an amendatory veto to improve bills, but he says some of the bills, while short of being what he wanted, are better than nothing at all.
