Galesburg Accident Injures Two
An accident involving a truck and a scooter has sent two individuals to a local hospital. Galesburg Police, Fire and paramedics were called to the area of Mulberry and Pine streets before one o'clock this afternoon to respond to a vehicle crash.

Galesburg Police officials say the accident happened as a scooter with two people on it was traveling northbound on the southbound-only Pine Street, and as it attempted to cross over Mulberry Street it collided with a truck traveling eastbound.

Police say two as-yet unidentified victims on the scooter, one male and a female, were transported by ambulance to Cottage Hospital for what the police say were non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

It is unknown if the scooter driver or passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Debris from the scooter was scattered throughout the immediate area of the accident.
