Man Accused of Transporting 20 Pounds of Pot
An Indiana man was caught just outside of Galesburg allegedly transporting a large amount of an illegal drug and also had plenty of cash on him.

Galesburg police say officers on patrol in the construction zone on Interstate 74 near the Route 34 exit ramps Tuesday pulled over a vehicle being driven by 52-year old George Lewis Cassidy, Junior.

Police say a search of the vehicle using one of the police department's K-9's turned up around 20 pounds of cannibis, along with just under a thousand dollars in cash.

Cassidy faces preliminary charges of Possession of Over 5,000 grams of Cannabis, Possession with Intent to Deliver, and Cannabis Trafficking.

Cassidy is in the Knox County Jail awaiting court appearances. It's not clear what time of day the suspected drug bust happened.
