"Barefoot Bandit" May Have Stopped in Illinois
DANVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- If investigators have it right, the teenager known as the Barefoot Bandit may have made a stop in eastern Illinois before his arrest in the Bahamas.

Vermilion County Sheriff Pat Hartshorn says federal prosecutors tell him a late-June burglary at the Vermilion Regional Airport and theft of a nearby car could be related to the arrest of 19-year-old Colton Harris-Moore.

Hartshorn said the stolen car his agency investigated turned up at an airport in Bloomington, Ind., where Harris-Moore is suspected of stealing a plane.

Police arrested Harris-Moore after he allegedly crashed the plane in the Bahamas. He is suspected in about 70 property crimes in eight U.S. states and Canada. Many were committed by someone who had bare feet.
