Brady Touts Jobs Plan in Galesburg
Republican candidate for governor Bill Brady thinks he has the solution to the state's economic problems.

The Bloomington state Senator says he is a businesses man, and knows how to attract private business to Illinois.

Brady told WGIL during a campaign stop in Galesburg Thursday, he would provide tax credits for any business.

"I've also called, though, for a $2,100 tax credit for any business that creates a new job of any size. As I said the average job brings with it $4,200 in revenue for the state of Illinois. For every job we can bring here, giving back half of the first year's revenue as a incentive still leaves us with $2,100 and fosters an environment where that business invest in Illinois rather than Indiana or Missouri."

The state already has the Put Illinois to Work program, which also gives taxes credits to businesses who hire people for a required number of hours per week for a three to six month period of time.

The idea being many of those jobs could lead to permanent jobs if something opens up in the meantime.

Brady did not specify if his proposal would apply to temporary or permanent jobs.
