Intellihot Looking to Locate in Galesburg
A new "Sustainable Business Center" was just announced this week in the former Carhartt Warehouse in Galesburg, and now a business is already potentially lined up to settle in there.

City Economic Development Director Cesar Suarez tells WGIL the idea was a good fit for Intellihot Green Technologies Incorporated, who hope to manufacture new tank-less water heaters.

"The reason why they are looking at the Sustainalbe Business Center is only because they are going to put in place an incubator with staff people, copy machines, office space, and also affordable rent as well. A combination of those plus, Gretchen Garth and Nancy Iscovitz, also are very high minded about what a sustainable businesses is, and about the envirnment and energy conservation."

Intellihot has not officially committed to setting up shop in Galesburg. That all depends on a possible loan guarantee of $675,000 from the city.

The Galesburg City Council will vote on the measure next Tuesday.

If located in Galesburg, it is estimated Intellihot could create about 45 jobs in its first two years and 144 jobs in four years.
