Victim Identified in Peoria County Fatal Accident
Authorities are continuing their investigation into a crash early Friday evening that killed a Monmouth man.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll has confirmed she pronounced 29-year old Joshua Derry dead at the scene.

Authorities say Derry was westbound on Interstate 74 in Peoria County near the I-474 interchange around 5pm when the lane he was in ran out, causing his truck to end up in a grassy median and later in the eastbound lanes after it flipped over.

Ingersoll says it's unclear if Derry was wearing a seat belt, and results of an autopsy conducted yesterday have yet to be released.

State police officials have not yet released any more information about the crash.

Traffic on I-74 was blocked for a time while the accident scene was cleaned up; some eyewitnesses say they were being directed off the interstate at Kickapoo while 74 was blocked.
