Blago Trial May Not Impact Election After All
Political analysts had assumed the trial of ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich would be a factor in this year's election, but it looks like it won't be, at least with respect to its timing.

Illinois Republican Chairman Pat Brady says a longer Blagojevich trial, with lots of unsavory witnesses and sordid testimony in the news daily and a verdict in the middle of October, would have been gold for Republican candidates. Yet he says that with a verdict coming any day now, it'll be good for the state to move past the Blagojevich era, so he isn’t wishing the trial had carried on into the fall.

Gov. Pat Quinn says with the verdict coming soon, and with little evidence that the Blagojevich alleged misdeeds spread widely upon the Democratic Party, the election won’t be affected.
