Storm Ready for Interim Recorder Position
Randal Storm is ready to take on his new temporary job.

Knox County Board members approved Storm as the interim county recorder at this week's meeting.

Storm, from Rio, tells WGIL he is excited for the opportunity.

"I've worked with the county for 32 years," Storm said. "From 1973 to 2005, I enjoyed working with the County Board. I enjoyed people at the courthouse, I kind of, pretty much, know my way around with most of the offices."

Storm ran the Mary Davis Home in Galesburg for those 32 years.

He says he does not plan to run for the recorder position in November.

Storm is a Democrat, and the Democratic Central Committee has already slated Elizabeth Smith for the ballot.

Smith was actually rejected by the county board by a vote of 10 to 3 just before Storm was approved.
