Galesburg Minor Arrest on Child Sex Charges
A Galesburg minor has been taken into custody on charges of a child sex act.

The 17 year old male was arrested Wednesday after interviews led police to the boy.

The boy is accused of performing sexual acts on himself in front of a five year old Galva girl and attempting to pull her pants down.

According to police reports, the girl was with her parents at a friend's home in Galesburg June 11th. The arrested boy is the son of the friend.

The parents left to pick up some items at a Circle K while the girl was sleeping. It is assumed that is when the incident took place.

The girl later told her mother the boy had tried to pull her pants down. The girl also told her grandmother and another family friend about the whole incident.

The girl is now in her grandmother's custody because her mother was arrested in an unrelated matter.

The grandmother called the police about the incidents and was able to schedule at interview with the Child Advocacy Center for the girl.

According to reports, the girl was able to tell what happened and point to pictures of body parts provided during the interview.

The boy allegedly admitted to the incident after he was taken into custody Wednesday. He was taken to the Knox County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
