City Council to Consider Zoning Changes Tuesday Night
The Galesburg City Council is apparently ready to tackle an essentially city-wide re-zoning on the day the city's new Unified Development Ordinance takes effect.

Aldermen Tuesday night will vote on the rezoning of a host of properties, tabled last month, that were to be rezoned as part of the Unified Development Ordinance taking effect.

There were roughly 1,400 properties in the city that had to be rezoned as a result of the re-classification process that went along with the creation of the Unified Development Ordinance, and residents asked many questions during a public hearing on the matter in May preceding the council's first vote.

Aldermen Tuesday night will also consider providing that $675,000 revolving loan to Intellihot, which would allow them to become the first business to locate in the new "sustainable business center" in the former Carhartt building on West Main Street.

Intellihot wants to manufacture tankless water heaters on the site.

The Galesburg City Council meets at 6:30pm Tuesday inside council chambers at City Hall.
