Galesburg Beck's Robbed At Gunpoint
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 7/7/10 Galesburg police are searching for three suspects in an alleged armed robbery early Wednesday morning.

Around 2:30 AM, three black males entered the Beck's convenience store and gas station at 1581 East Main Street..

According to police reports, the men were wearing masks and black clothing. One of the men had a silver handgun, which he pointed at an employee and demanded everyone lay on the ground.

The man with the gun then came around the counter, ordered the employee to open the cash register and began filling a bag with money.

Around $930 was taken along with more than $200 worth of cigarettes.

The man then told the employee to open a safe and hit her in the head when she informed him she didn't have a key.

Two customers, a man and woman, were in the store at the time of the robbery. One of the males took a cell phone from the woman and about $15 from the man.

The man was also asked for his wallet and he was struck in the head as will when he was unable to get the wallet out of his pocket.

The males allegedly left the store of foot and went east.

Police were not able to locate the men, but investigators have obtained video footage from Beck's and hope to use it to identify the men. The investigation of the case is on going.
