Attorneys to Discuss Peterson's Possible Release
JOLIET, Ill. (AP) -- Attorneys in Drew Peterson's murder trial are scheduled to argue for the release of former suburban Chicago police officer's release from prison pending an appeal on some evidence.

Jury selection was to begin Thursday in Peterson's trial in the 2004 drowning death of his ex-wife, Kathleen Savio. But prosecutors say the start will be delayed for months.

Will County Judge Stephen White decided he won't allow a jury to listen to some hearsay evidence. Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow has appealed claiming an appellate court has established hearsay evidence should be allowed.

The disagreement means Peterson could be freed from jail since state law doesn't allow him to remain incarcerated during such an appeal.

Attorneys were scheduled to appear before White on Thursday.
