Man Handed 90-Year Sentence for Assaults
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- A Normal man has been sentenced to 90 years in prison for sexually assaulting one woman and physically abusing another during two residential burglaries.

McLean County Circuit Judge Robert Freitag told Joseph Primm there weren't words to express the horror he imposed on other people before handing down the lengthy sentence sought by prosecutors.

When asked if he wanted to make a statement, Primm asked Freitag "can I take my plea back?" Freitag answered a motion on the plea issue must be filed within 30 days.

Primm pleaded guilty in April to three counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of home invasion.

In addition to the February 2009 attacks, Primm also confessed to multiple burglaries.

Assistant State's Attorney Kim Campbell on Wednesday asked for the lengthy sentence, saying Primm "took what he wanted, when he wanted it."
