School Board Considers Master Facilities Plan Work Monday Night
The $110 Million Master Facilities Plan adopted by the Galesburg School District will be the subject of several items before the Galesburg School Board Monday.

The District-205 Board Monday evening will consider the design plans for renovations at Lombard Middle School, and for the first phrase of work at Galesburg High School.

Public meetings have been held regarding both sets of plans in the last month. Lombard is set to have a brand new entranceway, possibly a bigger band room, and some other classroom work among other things.

The first phase at Galesburg High School includes an athletic fieldhouse that's to be used as gym space while other renovations go on. That's in addition to a new football stadium area.

The athletic-related work has often drawn criticism from the public, however. But, district officials say both plans came in under budget: just over $10 million for the Lombard work, and $13 million for GHS.

The issuance of Qualified Zone Academy Bonds to the tune of $5 million in support of the work is also to be considered Monday.

The Galesburg School Board will also get a look at a tentative budget when it meets at seven o'clock at Lincoln School.
