Suspects in Shootings Make Court Appearances
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 7/11/11 Three suspects in two separate shooting incidents have made appearances in court.

For one, 18-year old Michael Garrett made his first appearance in court Monday with attorney Michael Herr.

Garrett faces charges of First Degree Murder Accountability and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm Accountability in connection with the shooting a week and a half ago at Kiwanis Park that claimed the life of 21-year old Jemell Ware.

A judge scheduled a preliminary hearing date of August 1st, and he'll remain in the Knox County Jail until them on one-million dollars bond.

Three others arrested last Thursday in Chicago -- including murder suspect 46-year old Overton Fisher, have not yet been extradited back to Knox County. Police officials said they expected that to happen sometime this week.

The other two people in court Monday were suspected in last week's shooting and robbery attempt outside a Monmouth Boulevard apartment.

17-year olds Tyrone Haywood had a preliminary hearing set for July 25th at 2pm. That's also when a judge will consider Haywood's request to have his $400,000 bond lowered.

Haywood faces charges of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Battery With a Firearm Accountability, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm Accountability.

The alleged triggerman in the case, 17-year old Devonta Parker, saw his hearing delayed until Wednesday, when his attorney Karl Johnson will be available.

Parker is jailed on $500,000 bond.
