Sheriffs Deputy Injured in Crash With Wrong-Way Driver
A Knox County Sheriffs Deputy is hospitalized after a driver he had been looking for that was going the wrong way down Interstate 74, hit his squad car head-on.

The Knox County Sheriffs Department says the incident happened around 11pm Wednesday on Interstate 74, roughly three-miles south of Woodhull.

They say Deputy Keith King was in the area of Mike Marker 41 when a vehicle right in front of him changed lanes quickly, at which time the driver was found hitting and damaging the squad car.

That driver was identified as 41-year old Benjamin Davis.

Both King and Davis were transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Conditions on the two aren't available, but deputies say King has non-life-threatening injuries.

The Illinois State Police is believed to be investigating the accident.
