One Arrested, Four Wanted For Fatal Kiwanis Park Shooting
The first arrest Galesburg Police say they've made in connection to a shooting at Kiwanis Park Thursday night that claimed a life, is that of a 16-year old boy.

Police say the boy was arrested early Friday morning on charges of murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm, and he's currently being held at the Knox County Mary Davis Home.

Officers also say they're now looking for four more people, wanted in warrants on the same charges: 23-year old Albert Carter, 18-year old Michael Fisher, and 21-year old Kareem Dixon, all of Galesburg -- in addition to 46-year old Overton Fisher of Chicago.

They're accused of being at Kiwanis Park around 7:15pm Thursday and shooting 21-year old Jemell Ware, who was found about 60-feet from Michigan Avenue. Ware was taken to Galesburg Cottage Hospital where he died a short time later.

Investigators say they have done plenty of interviews and collected a lot of evidence from the scene, but they don't say if they've recovered a maroon and gray van the four were believed to be in at one point.

Anyone with information is still being urged to call the Galesburg-Area CrimeStoppers Hotline because, officials say, their investigation is not done.
