IL's 10th Casino Opens
CHICAGO (AP) -- Illinois' 10th casino is open after years of legal and regulatory fights over its gambling license.

The Rivers Casino officially opened Monday in the Chicago of Des Plaines. The license had long been dormant since originally being approved for the city of Rosemont in 1999.

The debut of Illinois' latest gambling house comes after lawmakers recently passed a measure that would massively expand gambling in the state. The bill would add five more casinos in Chicago, Danville, Rockford, Park City in Lake County and in a south Chicago suburb.

The measure still hasn't been sent to Gov. Pat Quinn, and Quinn hasn't said what action he'll take on the bill when he gets it. He's criticized such a sizable expansion before.
