Former IL Senate President to Head Stadium Panel
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn has named the former president of the Illinois Senate to a panel that runs U.S. Cellular Field, home to the Chicago White Sox.

Emil Jones will get expenses but not a salary as chairman of the Sports Facilities Authority.

The authority developed and operates the baseball stadium. It also was involved in major renovations at Chicago's Soldier Field.

Jones, 75, is a Chicago Democrat who was former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's closest ally in the Illinois Legislature.

His son replaced him in the Senate. His wife, a state employee, got a big raise about the time she married Jones. His nephew and stepson were consultants at a college that got millions in state grants thanks to Jones.

Quinn did not immediately comment on the appointment Monday.
