Light City Council Agenda Monday
It might be an easy night Monday night for the Galesburg City Council -- after a meeting two weeks ago that saw the aldermen debate for about an hour whether retailer Kohl's should come to town.

But another facet of a major project is on the city agenda nonetheless.

Aldermen Monday night will consider an agreement with Hanson Engineering to provide some engineering services related to the West Main Street Overpass construction project.

The firm, officials say, will provide a look at the plans for retaining walls and columns on the project.

The cost is expected to be around $34,000, but the state capital construction program money the city is receiving for the overpasses will pay for it.

Aldermen Monday night will also look at purchasing two parcels of land, and a required federal flood plain plan, when they meet at 6:30 in council chambers at Galesburg City Hall.
