Partnership Between Knox County Health Department, CSC
A new partnership between the Knox County Health Department and Carl Sandburg College seems to be working well already.

Health Department Family Health Director Rhonda Peterson says the agreement offered school physicals to CSC students enrolled in certain programs, as required by those programs.

Peterson tells WGIL the physicals came in great handy.

"We were able to offer them... three or four dates before... the deadline to get their physicals in. I think it helped them as well as it helped us. So it was a good partnership," Peterson said.

Peterson says previously had to get the physicals done through another provider.

The Knox County Board of Health last week also learned that state funding for the health department will remain flat or slightly lower than last year, which Peterson says is pretty good considering what other parts are getting cut.
