Health Department Gets Dental Clinic Money
One of the busiest areas of the Knox County Health Department -- one that has been expanded before -- will soon be expanded again.

The Health Department recently learned that a $100,000 grant has been received that will allow for more patients to be seen at the Health Department's Dental Clinic.

Rhonda Peterson with the Health Department tells WGIL the expansion will likely be done without having to add on to the building...

"There won't be any big construction, but we are going to put in two dental hygienist chairs in one room that's already existing over in the dental department that is used as more of a storage area right now. We will be looking more into that."

Peterson says construction likely won't begin any time soon due to vacations, but the work should be complete by spring at the absolute latest.

She does say, though, that under the terms of the grant, the Health Department has two years to finish the work.
