Knox County Crash Claims Area Life
A Peoria man is dead while a Quad Cities resident is injured following a crash Thursday evening in Knox County.

State Police in East Moline say the crash happened just after 9pm Thursday on Interstate 74 near Knoxville. They say 19-year old Kelvosica Wright of Rock Island was headed westbound in a Chevy Tahoe when Wright lost control, drove off the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll three times before coming to a stop in the median.

Wright sustained minor injuries but a passenger, 27-year old Gavyn Ford, was taken to a Peoria Hospital but was pronounced dead after after suffering what troopers described as major trauma.

Troopers say Wright was wearing a seat belt, while Ford was not.

The accident is still believed to be under investigation. It's not clear if any tickets will be issued nor arrests made.
