County Board Member Resigns
A longtime member of the Knox County Board isn't there anymore.

The Knox County Board learned last night that Wayne Saline, a Republican from District-Four, resigned effective immediately, after 11 years on the board.

Knox County Board Chair Greg Bacon says it was probably the hardest resignation he'll have to ever announce.

"He explained to me how things work, he was a great mentor, he showed me a lot. It's really with deep sadness that I had to read that letter."

Other board members praised Saline's knowledge of the county's financial situation, having been the chair of the finance committee.

The Knox County Republican Central Committee will now have to caucus to select a replacement for Saline, which then would go to the County Board for its approval.

Saline's resignations, according to a letter, was due to personal reasons.
