Funerals Held for Girls Electrocuted on Farm
STERLING, Ill. (AP) -- Funerals have been held for two girls who were electrocuted in an accident that occurred while they were removing tassels from corn in rural northwestern Illinois.

The funeral of 14-year-old Hannah Kendall was held Friday morning at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling. She was buried at Calvary Cemetery.

Just a few hours later, the funeral of 14-year-old Jade Garza was held at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. She was buried in Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

Both services drew large crowds.

The funerals were the culmination of an outpouring of emotions following the deaths of the two Sterling girls, who came into contact Monday with a field irrigator near the village of Tampico. Balloon releases and walks were held throughout the week.

An investigation into the mishap continues.
