Bradley Putting Finishing Touches on $20M Dorms
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- A $20 million upscale student housing complex is on track to be finished before classes start at Bradley University.

So far, students have signed up for 170 of the 194 beds in the Main Street Commons' private suites in Peoria.

The Journal Star newspaper in Peoria reports each suite has its own washer and dryer and each suite has its own private bathroom. The commons area has 52-inch televisions, a fitness room, a hot tub and tanning beds.

Monthly rent will be $659 per bedroom.

University officials say much of exterior work is done, but there's still work going on indoors.

Developers say with projected occupancy rates they expect to move forward with second phase of construction which includes another building.

Classes at Bradley start Aug. 24.
